OUT OF ART GALLERY: A DIFFERENT WAY OF LIVING WITH ART

With an approach that goes beyond the traditional gallery, Out of Art Gallery brings modern and contemporary art into everyday spaces, creating a more intimate dialogue between artworks, environments and collectors. Through its different locations in Copenhagen, the gallery offers a personal way of experiencing and collecting art, grounded in quality, research and historical context.

For The New Collectors, Out of Art Gallery shares its vision of collecting and explains why, for them, art finds its most authentic dimension when it becomes part of the home.

"We wanted to show art where we believe it truly belongs: within the home.

This is not because we have anything against the traditional gallery,  quite the opposite. A gallery can offer something unique to an artwork through its architecture, lighting and proportions. Our view, however, is that art can take on a different character within the home, where it meets everyday life and its surroundings.

Our gallery experience therefore moves between different homes and locations in Østerbro, Frederiksberg and Kongens Lyngby, allowing works to be experienced in a more personal context.

We offer original works and graphic editions by established artists, with a focus on modern and post-war art. Artists such as Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miró, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and David Hockney demonstrate how graphic works can be an integral part of an artist’s practice, rather than simply reproductions.

For us, selecting art is about more than visual appeal. We look for works with artistic strength, quality, documentation and an interesting art-historical context.

We want to make art more accessible and share our knowledge with both new and experienced collectors. Building a collection is a process that develops over time, where individual works become part of a larger and personal story."
