Pauline Hoyer in Studio

Pauline Hoyer’s paintings draw from the visual language of the Baroque and the dreamlike atmosphere of Romanticism, exploring the inner landscape of human consciousness.

Her figures exist beyond space and time not as portraits of individuals, but as expressions of the universal human experience. Through movement, light, and fluid transformation, they express states of awareness, transcendence, and inner transformation.

Hoyer explores the idea that consciousness is at the heart of existence. This is reflected in her way of painting, where clarity and blur shift between each other, playing with perception of the human mind consciousness playing with itself. Her paintings invite the viewer to look inward, question their own perception, and perhaps bring their awareness to a deeper level.
