Petra von Kazinyan

Petra von Kazinyan's works oscillate between figuration and abstraction. Her practice explores themes of identity, perception, modern communication and the human condition within a world of hyperconnectivity, driven by technology. Even in her early works, the cloud as a manifesto of the ephemeral was a recurring notif that the artist and philosophy graduate filled with emotion. Petra's lyrical. enigmatic "Cloud Paintings" are based on today's outsourcing of human privacy: our visual memories are collected in clouds, while digital forms of interaction like voice messages are kind of a new narrative, a poetic, imaginary dance between the voice and the listener, fragile and temporary.
