"I am a Czech artist and a teacher of music and art based in the Czech Republic. I experience synesthesia, which allows me to perceive music not only through sound, but also through colour, shape, and visual structures. This way of experiencing music forms the foundation of my artistic practice.
For several years, my work has explored the relationship between visual art and music. By combining my synesthetic perception with an analytical understanding of musical structure, I examine the shared principles and expressive elements of both disciplines and develop a set of rules for translating music into visual form.
My work always refers to music through visual expression, focusing on different aspects of a particular composition. Some works transform musical notation into colour and graphic scores, while others visualize selected musical elements, such as melody, rhythm, or dynamics. Other pieces seek to capture an entire musical composition as a single visual work.
My artistic practice has also developed through exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including an exhibition in Hradec Králové with Klub konkretistů and an exhibition at Arrival Gallery in London. My works have also found their way into private collections internationally, with paintings sold to collectors abroad.
My background as a music and art teacher strongly influences the way I approach my work. Moving between music, visual art, and education allows me to explore the space between hearing and seeing, transforming an experience that begins with sound into colour, structure, rhythm, and visual composition."
